I have experience of working in a Primary Care setting. I have spent time working and volunteering as a counsellor in the charity sector as well as counselling in schools and colleges.
I have gained experience in supporting and helping people dealing with a number of diverse issues including: stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues, panic disorder, phobias, anger management, family issues, abuse (sexual, domestic, physical,), low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, work related stress, bullying, self-harm, trauma, social anxiety. I also have experience dealing with issues around gender and sexuality.
I spent a year working in schools and colleges specifically with young people struggling with drug/alcohol abuse.
I am also trained in the Rewind Technique. This is a non-intrusive, safe and highly effective psychological method for detraumatising people, which can also be used for removing phobias.
I have a degree in Therapeutic Counselling and I am an Integrative Therapist, which means I use theories and techniques from Humanistic, CBT and Psychodynamic therapies, this allows me to be flexible in my approach and find the best way to help you.
